Since forever, football has played a huge part of my life. Brought me closer to family, and I’ve gained so many other brothers during the process. This year has been one of the toughest I can remember. Football for Kenna & I will never be the same without the big man..But last night, after not winning a game all season, the boys dedicated the game to my best friend & grandfather Al, wearing bracelets and breaking to his name. Was so emotional, and can’t express how much those kids and my coaches stepped up for me. Football is life, football is family. Nothing but love for the game and everyone’s whose touched my life…

There have been so many ups & downs, emotional roller coasters, tough losses and great gains; And I wouldn’t change one second of it. These past 8 weeks have no doubt been the toughest since making the decision to better myself & stay away from drugs nearly 5 years ago. The loss of a lifelong best friend, someone who always made me feel loved & so important. I’ve learned time & tears take away grief. But the tough reality is that you’ll grieve forever, you’ll never get over the loss of a loved one, you’ll learn to live with it. I’ve also learned not to let the voice of others drown out my inner voice. I’ve been caring far too much about how others feel, and neglecting myself. People come, people go. In 1971 they knew that holding your arch up was critical for the subtalar joint and tibia to rotate together

For reference in real time propulsion or loading if the femur is spinning outward or inward and the tibia is spinning or stuck in the opposite direction, that would be the definition of a shearing force on nearby ligaments and tendons

In 1971 they also didn’t know that they were studying people who were already moving forward in reverse and although tibial and subtalar joint rotation was possible under static conditions with “supination” it wasn’t actually observed in real time gait because they were studying people who were walking in reverse off low inside ankle bones and weren’t actually able to use the joint structure through its innate design in real time forward movement

How we locomote forward in the gait pattern is the most critical component of joint health and long term tissue security

This study confirms the relationship between IABH #InsideAnkleBoneHigh and the rotary component externally & internally of the ankle joint and tibia, while also reminding us that there were Woata’s in the 70’s and we’ve been looking at forward movement in reverse for a while

You need to maintain IABH and a strong arch to get the tibia and ankle joint to spin, a low inside ankle bone and collapsed arch shuts off torque through the ankle joint and tibia, thereby sending a literal shearing force through the lower half of the body when it comes time to load

These micro shearing forces produced and multiplied over time in the everyday gait pattern and in training accumulate and contribute directly to the moment a catastrophic lower half of the body injury occurs. 6 years ago my life was changed forever. A tree limb landed on my head from 40 feet up; shattered my nose in 30 places, broken eye socket, dislocated jaw, lost teeth, traumatic brain injury. You could see my skull, they said I should’ve died. I was told I couldn’t exercise or do the things I love to do anymore and it crushed me. I was brought to a dark place.
But only in the darkness can you see the stars. I learned that today can be hard, tomorrow might be worse, but through perseverance, determination and a positive attitude, the day after tomorrow will bring light. Things that happen to you make you realize your true potential, strength, will power and heart. You’ve got to have faith. I’ve overcome things they told me I couldn’t, and don’t plan on stopping now.
I still have struggles: trouble breathing out of my nose, crooked jaw, postural alignment, contestant headaches, short term memory less (sometimes I forget my own age 😉 or just impulsively say dumb shit) among other things. But when I feel like giving up, I remember where I was and why I worked so hard in the first place. Never think your defeated, you can do anything you put your mind too.
